Making concrete objects for the home.
A few years back, I dragged my poor bestie to a weekend of concrete making at The Hepworth in Wakey. It was a lot of fun and slightly silly. We left with a tranche of homemade and let's say quite rustic concrete objects. The course was well taught and for my first ever time making from concrete, I was quite happy with the results. Amazingly, all are still dotted about the place and none went in the bin.
Being time-limited means I have not explored concrete since, but I know I will do as I want to incorporate elements of concrete into my next home renovation. The pieces below are a bit rough and ready and wanted to show I am prepared to have a go (and not totally embarrassed by the results).

Coaster; orange dye in concrete | 2018
Doorstop [it's bloody good!]. Amazing what you can do with an old ice cream box :D | 2018
Concrete bowl; yellow dye added | 2018
Tealight holder. Can you tell I didn't have a tealight on me when I made the shape? :/ | 2018
Plant holder. You can see the aggregate because instead of sanding the green concrete with sandpaper, I used a paving slab as the coarse surface | 2018
... and a wiggly eye | 2018
Bestie's tealight holder, donated to me | 2018
Concrete bowl; you can see the black dye at the base | 2018

Shop-bought 'C' [from The Hepworth] which later accidentally broke :( . Instead of throwing it, I glued & painted it | 2018
